what, where & how?
we will be planting trees in three distinct areas.
- our local community
- London schools
- the home counties
1) our local community
We Are Waterloo https://wearewaterloo.co.uk are our local BID (Business Improvement District), who are doing exceptional work to help “green” our neighbourhood. together we have identified specific spots in the BID area (within Lambeth & Southwark) where we can plant trees. these will be 2 metre high, fully supported trees of varieties suitable for their position.
2) London schools
we have teamed up with Letting Grow https://www.lettinggrow.com/ an organisation with big ambitions and a specific purpose to educate and let children experience the value of growing their own food. this is done in the school grounds where allotments are developed and in some cases an orchard planted. we are funding trees for this orchard planting.
3) the home counties
inevitably in order to find enough space and time to plant trees quickly we have to look beyond London, but we still want to keep it as local as possible. we have teamed up with eforests https://www.eforests.co.uk/ who are planting broadleaf UK native trees for us in woodlands around Greater London.
