Eden matched a celebratory menu on the occasion of the Shortlist Announcement for The Walter Scott Prize For Historical Fiction. The Walter Scott Prize is one of the UK’s richest literary prizes, and honours Scott’s achievements and his place as one of the world’s most influential novelists. The menu was in the style of ‘John Murrays Four o Clock Friends’ – the gatherings at 50 Albemarle St, W1, two hundred years ago, that brought together the most celebrated literary figures of the time such as Sir Walter Scott and Lord Byron. The menu also pays homage to Sir Walter Scott’s orchestration of King George IV’s visit to Edinburgh in 1822, during which a vast and elaborate menu was served.
